Success Stories From Barringtons ClubsNSW Job Ready Program

Profile: Ty Webb Trained: Indigenous Job Ready Program 2015 Working: Rooty Hill RSL, Function team (employed for 3 years)

Ty Webb is one of our Job Ready program’s great success stories. After initial training and employment placement, Barringtons are always heartened to catch up with former students years’ down the track and follow their achievements.

Recently, Barringtons’ dedicated Employment Placement Coordinator, Michael Ruggeri, caught up with Ty at Rooty Hill RSL. Michael was delighted to see how well Ty has been putting into practice all the skills he had learnt during his Job Ready training. During the course, Ty was trained in practical skills such as customer service, operating a bar and food safety, which gave him great hands-on experience in order to be able to start his hospitality career.

Prior to training with Barringtons, Ty had not held continuous, long-term employment. Ty participated in our Indigenous Job Ready training program in 2015 and during this time, Ty’s trainer saw in him strong potential for a future in hospitality. Michael organised an interview for Ty at Rooty Hill RSL, where managers saw the same potential and hired Ty after completion of his training.

Today, over three years later, Ty is still successfully employed at Rooty Hill RSL and is an integral part of their functions team.
