OVERVIEW OF COURSES

Hospitality graduates will be provided necessary certifications for entry level roles, including: Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Gambling Services (RCG).

You will receive a Statement of Attainment, having completed units from our Certificate II in Hospitality (SIT20316) Course. Graduates are provided access to the Jobs in Clubs job opportunity network. With over 8,000 people in the community this is a great resource to assist students with their job search.

RSA - Responsible Service of Alcohol

If you want to work in a job serving or selling alcohol within Australia, you need to complete Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training. When you finish the course you will receive an RSA certificate. Responsible service of alcohol  (known as RSA) training is a form of education provided to servers and sellers of alcohol to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking.  In Australia this training is regulated by state laws.

Each state of Australia has its own requirements for RSA training. This means, that if you want to work in more than one state of Australia, you may need more than one RSA certificate.

RCG - Responsible Conduct of Gambling

All persons working in the gambling area must have a responsible gambling certificate. If you do not intend to work in the gaming areas, holding the RCG certificate will mean you can cover breaks and/or shifts for other staff, making you more employable. Refresher training is required every 5 years and is only available through Liquor & Gaming NSW.

The correct name of this program is Provide responsible gambling services (RGS) however most organisations still refer to it's old name RCG (responsible conduct of gambling). It's all one and the same, as long as the training provider is approved by the Liquor & Gaming authority to deliver the RCG course.

Any persons working in a gambling area must have this RCG certificate. Areas include:

  1. Gaming room attendants
  2. Casino workers
  3. Licensees
