SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail

This is an intermediate level qualification designed for individuals employed or seeking employment in a variety of roles including (but not limited to): 

  • Providing in-depth product and service advice in a retail environment
  • Selling products and services in variety of retail settings
  • Supervising a checkout area
  • Leading a team preparing and selling fast food items
  • Leading a department team within a large store or supermarket
  • Acting as an assistant to a manager of a small to medium store
  • Organising and maintaining work areas and display
  • Carry out specific responsibilities, such as merchandising.

The Certificate III in Retail Operations is the ideal qualification for individuals who undertake work in various retail store settings, such as specialty stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail fast food outlets. It is designed to refine the skills and the knowledge base of existing and future retail employees.

Am I eligible?
There are no prerequisite requirements for entry into this qualification. Your current job needs to reflect the course you wish to apply for.

What will I receive?
On successful completion learners will receive a Nationally Recognised Certificate III in Retail Operations or a Statement of Attainment for competencies completed.

Can I go on to further training?
Yes. Successful completion of this course may gain recognition of your studies towards Certificate IV in Retail Management or other relevant Certificate IV qualifications.

How long will the training take?
Approximately 12 months. This will consist of on the job learning and off the job study time. The training duration will depend on the electives and study mode selected.

Where, when and how can I train?
The delivery of this course is employment based.

Employment based training may include workplace activities conducted by the employer, practice exercises, simulated activities in the classroom, learner activity workbooks & research projects.

Assessments could be conducted on or off the job. Assessment activities may include oral presentation, role-plays, assessment activities, knowledge quizzes and project based exercises.
