SIT50416 Diploma of Hospitality Management

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use sound knowledge of industry operations and a broad range of managerial skills to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions.

What job roles could my training lead to?
This qualification provides a pathway to work in any sector of the hospitality industry as a departmental or small business manager.


Possible job titles include: 

  • Banquet or function manager
  • Chef de cuisine
  • Chef patisserie
  • Executive housekeeper
  • Front office manager
  • Gaming manager
  • Kitchen manager
  • Motel manager
  • Restaurant manager
  • Sous chef
  • Unit manager (catering operations).

Am I eligible?
It is strongly recommended that individuals undertake lower level qualifications, and/or gain industry experience prior to entering SIT50416 Diploma of Hospitality Management. However this is not mandatory.

What will I receive?
On successful completion learners will receive a Diploma of Hospitality Management or a Statement of Attainment for competencies completed.

Can I go on to further training?
Yes. Successful completion of this course may gain recognition of your studies towards the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality or other Advanced Diploma qualifications.

How long will the training take?
Approximately 6-12 months of study time will be involved however, the training duration will depend on the electives and study mode selected.

Where, when and how can I train?
You can choose to complete your qualification via distance (workbooks and assessments are completed off site) or through structured class room sessions or blended delivery.
 

Assessments could be conducted on or off the job. Assessment activities may include oral presentation, role-plays, assessment activities, knowledge quizzes and project based exercises.
